In this article, I’m going to talk about family fun hobbies and art projects.
Some of these will link back to the article I wrote entitled, Top 4 Christmas Songs For Preschoolers: Christmas Is Here Lyrics.
This way, you can have a theme for each day. Some of these will be art projects, while others will be fun activities you and your family can do together.
Family Fun Hobbies: Art Projects For Kids
The first activity will go along with the song that I mentioned called The Reindeer Pokey.
This activity is fun and simple to do and doesn’t require very much. You can do this activity with just a glue stick and some construction paper.
For this activity, each person will need one glue stick, two dark brown sheets of construction paper, two light brown (tan) sheets of construction paper, one sheet of white construction paper, one sheet of black construction paper, one sheet of red construction paper and one sheet of pink construction paper.
Start by tracing your hand prints on the dark brown construction paper and cutting them out. These will be used for your reindeer’s antlers.
Then cut out a large oval from the light brown construction paper. Next, cut out two small ovals from the light brown construction paper. These will be used for the head and the ears.
Next, glue the antlers and ears on to your reindeer’s head. Then, cut two medium-sized ovals out of your white construction paper. Then cut two small circles out of your black construction paper. Glue your white ovals on to your reindeer’s head, and then glue your black circles inside your white ovals to create your reindeer’s eyes.
Next, cut out a large red oval and glue it underneath your reindeer’s eyes. This will be your reindeer’s nose. You can use the pink construction paper to add small circles on either side of your reindeer’s face to give them rosy cheeks, and you can use leftover brown construction paper to add eyebrows to your reindeer if you would like to.
Christmas Time Is Here
The next activity goes along with the song Christmas Time is Here. This is a very simple, easy to make sugar cookie recipe.
Not only are they easy to make, but your children will have just as much fun decorating them as they will eating them! This recipe only calls for three ingredients for the cookies.
I will also give a recipe for frosting that you can use if you would like to.
You will need one stick and two tablespoons of butter, ⅓ cup of granulated sugar, and one cup of all-purpose flour for the cookies.
Here is the link to the recipe and directions for the cookies!

The next activity goes along with the song Little snowflake. This fun activity can be done with white paper, scissors, string, and if you’re feeling courageous, glue, and glitter.
You start by folding the white paper in half and then folding it up again to fold into a small square, and snipping out small shapes.
When you open the paper up, you will see that you have cut small designs in the paper, making it look like a beautiful snowflake.
You can cut a hole at the top of the snowflake and put your string through so you can hang them from the ceiling.
I hope you and your family enjoy some of the fun activities mentioned here. I would love to hear about your favorite family activities, and I will be going over more family fun art activities in my next article.
